Global filter

The global filter enables filtering all your data in LUY according to individually defined filter criteria. This may help to reduce the amount of data displayed and loaded in LUY for a better experience and overview, e.g., by loading only the data from one particular enterprise location or from a specific year. A global filter applies to all pages in LUY, e.g., diagrams, lists, surveys, single element view. Keep in mind that while a global filter is activated, some existing data elements will not be visible for you.

  1. Enable edit mode to configure the personal global filter

  2. Activate/deactivate filter

  3. Section shows the current personal global filter

Configure a personal global filter

Activate editing by clicking on the edit button. You can define a separate filter for each building block type by using the “filter” button next to the building block name.

Reset the filter for each building block type separately by using the “reset” button next to the filter button in each building block type segment or reset all individual configurations by using the “reset all” button in the toolbar.

The number next to the reset button shows the number of elements visible to you if you apply the filter.

In all cases, you need to press “apply” in order to save and activate your new configuration. If your configuration doesn’t contain any filters, “apply” will not activate the filter.

You can review your set filter in the overview.

When saved, the configuration is displayed like this.

Once you click “apply all” your configuration for all building block types is saved and immediately activated. After that, you can view only filtered data.

You can deactivate the filter by using the switch button. The settings are saved until you edit them again and/or activate the filter again.

At any time, the filter-icon in the header indicates if the personal global filter is active or not.

Affected features...

While creating a survey, you can set a filter for all elements which should be part of the survey. The survey and the respective filter will be applied to all data, not only to the data visible to you, while you use LUY with an activated global filter. As a result, if a global filter is activated, you might not see all elements that are affected by your survey. Also, when viewing a survey, the data visible to you might be incomplete if you have activated a global filter.
