New Success and Error Toasts
July 2024
We have completely rebuilt and redesigned our success and error toast mechanics in LUY making it easier to understand when an action was successful or not, and if it wasn’t, why it did fail.
Features
New and improved UX writing
All success and error toasts have been rewritten to be easier to understand, less technical and more concise. They all follow the same pattern, so you always know what is happening.
New mechanics
Actions should now always trigger success and error toasts in the same way, for the same event.
Success and error toasts can be stacked: when there are multiple toasts they will form a queue and appear after one another.
Up to five toasts can be shown at the same time, a new toast will always appear when another one vanishes.
Success and error toasts now both feature the same behavior, so both of them will automatically disappear after 5 seconds.
Error toasts no longer block actions in the frontend, so users no longer need to manually remove the error toast to continue their action.
Limitations
Be aware that for this first iteration our new frontend does not yet support every feature known to you in our previous LUY solution. These features will follow shortly.
There are few toasts missing. They will be implemented together with the feature that triggers them.
